An acrostic poem by Kelvin Jasi in respect of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi:
PRINCE MANGOSUTHU BUTHELEZI
P ioneer of justice, a Prince so wise,
R adiant leader, with unwavering eyes,
I nkatha’s founder, his legacy flies,
N oble and steadfast, under African skies,
C easeless dedication, where his spirit lies,
E ternal respect, as our tears comprise.
M any hearts now heavy, our tears freely flow,
A prince who led with grace, in his radiant glow,
N urturing traditions, with wisdom to bestow,
G athering a nation, under his leadership’s bow,
O vercoming obstacles, with resilience aglow,
S olid in his resolve, like the mighty river’s flow,
U nifier of cultures, as history will surely show,
T enacious and resolute, in both high and low,
H onoring a legacy, as to the heavens we bestow,
U nwavering in spirit, a luminous star to follow.
B idding farewell to a great leader today,
U nifying hearts in the most remarkable way,
T hrough trials and triumphs, he led the fray,
H olding high our heritage, come what may,
E ternal in our memories, his legacy will stay,
L eading with honor, in the light of day,
E verlasting impact, in our hearts, we weigh,
Z est for justice, his guiding ray,
I n our history’s pages, forever, he’ll display.
