In my childhood lens, my parents were my gods,
Creators, towering above, their light a sign.
The omniscient beings, knowing all in their words,
Their wisdom a beacon, across life’s span.
Yet as time went by, their humanity came into sight,
Imperfections revealed, casting a new definition.
No longer untouchable, they bore scars unseen,
Survivors of their own battles, resilient and capable.
In their struggles, I saw their efforts pure,
Guiding me through life’s trials to endure.
Surely, they did their best to raise me.
