Open Letter to Baba Harare

Dear Baba Harare,

I hope this letter finds you in good health. I wanted to take a moment to convey your viewpoint on the great journey you’ve taken by transitioning from secular to gospel music. As a long-time admirer of your work, I want to wholeheartedly endorse you in this new chapter of your life.

Your decision to serve God through your music is commendable, and it speaks volumes about your character and your commitment to your faith. As a Jiti musician, you have been blessed with a unique skill, which I feel may be used powerfully in God’s service. While your music has always provided joy to many, there is something deeply wonderful about using your skill to promote the Gospel message.

To me, this is your Damascus moment—a time of tremendous transformation and purpose. I appreciate that not everyone will accept the change. Those who refuse to embrace your transformation are saying, “We like you, but not in Christ or the Church.” Nonetheless, I advise you to not be discouraged. A higher calling guides your destiny, and no one can stop you now. Gospel music has over 200 million monthly listeners. So you made a brilliant move as an artist.

I’d also like to offer my warmest congratulations on your recent marriage. Marriage is a wonderful adventure, and I wish you love, peace, order, and prosperity as you and your spouse navigate life together. The Bible states, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” May your union be exceedingly blessed, and may God’s grace shine upon you both, flooding your future with heavenly light and endless benefits.

Baba Harare, I see a brighter future for you—one full of purpose, faith, and the fulfillment of God’s promises. Continue to shine, and may your music touch hearts and change lives in ways you never expected.

Let there be light!

With warm regards and best wishes,
Kelvin Jasi
