“Fate” poem

I tried to be “normal.”
I tried to like the people I was supposed to like.
Tried to imagine the future I was meant to live.
I tried so hard.
I realized I had two choices;
Conform and slowly strangle myself.
Or shatter the mold and let others slowly strangle me.
Either way I was going to die.
