Chapter 9
As they got home, Chloe did not waste time telling Donald what was in her heart. “My husband, my love, I am so glad that you are back to me and your children. May God bless you.”
Donald gazed into Chloe’s eyes lustfully but did not say anything. In his heart he was saying, “for real, Chloe has changed. Glory be to God.”
I always loved you, Chloe. Even though I was with Olinda, I never had any feeling for her”, Donald said.
Chloe jumped in excitement. “Really? Are you sure?” Chloe asked.
“Yes, my love. When I saw that Olinda might end up forcing herself on me, I called my sister Margaret over. However, to my greatest shock, Olinda won her over instead but still, I never got intimate with Olinda”, Donald revealed. He reassured his wife of his love and they shared a passionate kiss.
At that moment Margaret barged in and Donald and Chloe stopped kissing immediately erupting a loud mxuah kiss sound. “I’m sorry”, the lost in thought Margaret was embarrassed.
Chloe I have come to you to beg your apology for not supporting you. Please, forgive me. I love you, Sister-in-law.”
When Margaret asked for Chloe’s forgiveness, she forgave her immediately.
Chloe stepped and hugged Margaret. “It’s all my fault. My obsession with money almost ruined our lives. I forgive you, my darling sister-in-law. I’m sorry too. I never knew Donald doesn’t send money to my mother-in-law, now I promise it will never happen again, henceforth, my husband shall always send money to the village”, Chloe said calmly and the two ladies remained hugged to each other so tightly both in tears.
When they disengaged from the hug, Margaret uttered, “I never knew I was obsessed with money too till Olinda began to give me lots of expensive gifts and cash. I lost myself. I began to speak in Olinda’s favor. So you see, everyone is somehow obsessed with money but we should never allow our obsession for money overpower us”.
Donald was just standing watching the two pouring their hearts to each other. He shook his head in agreement. “Money is meant to serve us and not the other way round”, Donald added.
“I’m happy for you two. Now that there are no complaints or worries about each other, you shall see what God will do for you. Unity unlocks big blessings”, the three hugged at the same time.
Donald got a new job and Chloe handled her business more professionally. They both worked harder each day to better their lives.
After a few weeks, on a hot Saturday afternoon, Donald received a call. He leaped for joy and gave a loud scream that alerted Chloe.
“My love, what happened? Who called you?”, Chloe inquired.
Donald was crazily jumpy like a little kid. He could not talk at that moment.
“Talk to me. Please, I’m so scared”, Chloe added.
“I won a contract that is worth over five million. Honey, we are rich”, Donald said in smiles.
“Jesus!”, Chloe was shocked. She couldn’t believe her ears and she burst into tears.
Donald held her hands and explained, “I met an old friend and promised to help me get a with the government. So, here we are my love.”
The couple was so happy as each day was a testimony for them and their life changed for the better.
