Chapter 6
That day was not a pleasant one for Chloe. “If I had known, I should have rejected Olinda’s deal. I wish my life to go back to normal.” She wallowed in deep regrets.
She wished her life could go back to normal.
“Please Lord bring my husband back to me. I promise to never trouble him again. I will adore him. Please Lord I love Donald so much and I can’t live without him”, Chloe thought as she went back home in tears.
A few weeks later, Olinda was doing all she could to leave the country with Donald.
“What if Donald returns back to his first wife, Chloe? What will become of me? I need to act fast. I’m leaving this country with Donald as soon as possible”, she thought.
Each day she would go out of her way to impress Donald. But Donald was always cold around her. Donald had not been intimate with Olinda and that worries her.
Olinda had won Margaret’s heart lots of expensive gifts and cash gifts and the two became so close. All Olinda wanted was for Margaret to convince Donald to leave the country with her.
Olinda used to tell Margaret to convince Donald to Olinda and fly abroad to start a new happy life.
“Son of my mother, my only brother, Donald. That your first wife, Chloe is very dangerous. Seriously, because of money, she pushed you into the arms of another woman, which means she could have you killed for money. Do you remember our mother warning you against marrying Chloe? You never listened, now see, this woman had complicated your life. If I were you, I will forget about her and move on with Olinda”, Margaret said calmly.
Every day, all Margaret does was to convince Donald to accept Olinda as his wife and forget about Chloe.
“Margaret, what about my children? Margaret, what happened to you? The Margaret I know will never advise me to forget my family. What has come over you?”, Donald responded.
“You are my only brother, I know what will be good for you. Olinda is now a part of our family. Why don’t you leave the country with her? Leave this country and you can come back later for your children. Is not like they will lack anything if you leave them, no, they will be fine. Their mother still has the three hundred thousand dollars, so with that money she can take care of your children and invest the remaining balance in her business. So you see, your children will be okay without you. Focus on Olinda. Please that lady loves you so much more than Chloe, the mother of your children. How on earth can a woman that loves her husband intentionally push him away? I know how you toiled and struggled to make Chloe happy, but she doesn’t appreciate you”, Margaret added and Donald listened speechlessly.
A few weeks passed and Margaret succeeded in convincing Donald to leave the country with Olinda. Olinda was so happy when Donald finally agreed to leave the country with her.
In no time their travel documents were ready.
One morning, Donald and Olinda were set to leave for the airport, Margaret hugged them and said, “I’m so excited to see the two embarking on your journey. Have a peaceful and happy life together in Jesus’ name.” Immediately they drove off to the airport.
Chloe was sighted coming down from a cab at Olinda’s house. The security guard recognized her immediately. “Madam, what do you want? I hope you are not here again to cause trouble again because nobody is at home at the moment”, the security guard said.
Chloe gave him a quick stare and uttered “I’m here to see my husband. Please, call him out. I’m not here for trouble but for peace, please call my husband out.”
“Madam, as I said earlier, nobody is at home even aunty Margaret left with Madam Olinda and her husband. I’m afraid, please go away.” The security guard added.
Chloe’s stomach boiled in anger because the security guard referred to Donald as Olinda’s husband but she comforted herself quickly.
“Where have they gone to? Please, it’s important that I see Donald”, Chloe said
“To the airport. Madam Olinda and her husband are leaving the country”, the security guard revealed and Chloe almost had a heart attack.
Immediately, She flagged down a taxi. “Please take me to the airport”, she told the cab driver and they sped off immediately.
